Solomonseal Rhizome (YuZhu) and Wolfberry Soup 玉竹杞子汤

Solomonseal Rhizome (YuZhu玉竹) is a nourishing ingredients. Taste sweet and is neutral nature. It nourishes “yin”, moistens internal drynress, stimulates saliva secretion and quenches thirst. It heals cough, treats relieves thirst, clears internal heat, dryness of mouth and sore throat. When cooked with other ingredients, the soup provides a rich source of proteins, iron and Vitamin B.

  • 30 Grams Solomonseal Rhizome (YuZhu)
  • 30 Grams Dried Chinese Yam
  • 1 table spoon Wolfberry
  • 12 Red Dates
  • 3 Liters Water
  • 1/1/2 Teaspoons Salt
  • 700 Grams Chicken ***Optional Chicken Feet


Step 1: Ready the 30gram Solomonseal Rhizome (YuZhu).



Step 2: Ready the 30gram dried Chinese yam


Step 3: Ready one teaspoons of wolfberries.



Step 4: Rinse the chicken meat and remove the chicken skin. Mix with some chicken feet (optional).


Step 5: Ready the 12 pieces of Red dates.



Step 6: Put in all the ingredients into 3 liters of boiling water and cook for 15 minutes. After that, reduce to low heat and cook for 5 hours. Finally add in some salt and serve in hot.
